Field Trip

Last month I went on a field trip to the zoo with Lizzie's ELP class. We got to ride on a school bus, and Lizzie thought that was great. It was so fun because the class is very small ( only about 12 kids) and 7 parents went. The weather was perfect, and to top it off I got to spend the day with my baby at the zoo. Doesn't get much better!

Kathryn and Michael ice skating

Ice skating was their last activity. Kathryn had a blast!

Goofy Kids

Kathry's fun night

Kathryn was going to have Skye curl her hair for the school dance yesterday but she decided to wear it straight instead, so I straightened it for her. Skye came over anyway to hang out with her, so that was nice. I really like Skye, she's got a great personality and can be real goofy which is fun. Skye went with me to drop Kathryn off at her dates house, and we ended up staying and visiting with his mom and helping Michael put the finishing touches on his costume. They looked so cute together and had an absolute blast last night. Kathryn was on cloud 9 all night, it made me happy for her. She really needed last night cause she's been having stress from so much homework and struggling in her chemistry class. She's been so blessed because she's never really had to work at school, and has always gotten A's, or an occasional B. Everything has always come so easily for her, so I don't think she really knows how to handle not doing great in all her classes. She's just having to try a little harder now.

Kathryn's Orchestra Concert

Kathryn had her orchestra concert tonight. They did an amazing job, this group of kids are so talented that you almost feel like you're a professional symphony. One of the songs they performed was actually written by a boy in the class. He wrote the song for a full symphony, every instrument including a harp. It was so impressive, and the song was beautiful. It was so cool because he got a standing ovation, and very well deserved by the way. So there was this guy sitting in front of us that was so rude as to sit there and text and mess with his phone during the entire concert. We just tuned him out so he didn't ruin it for us, but how rude can you be. Anyway it was a great evening, and Kathryn did an awesome job, we are so proud of her.

Green Lemons

For some reason the lemons on my little lemon tree didn't ripen this year. I was sad because I enjoy having fresh squeezed lemonade. I guess the tree is confused about the seasons. I better go have a talk with it because I want yellow lemons next year.

This is the flowerbed in the backyard up against the house. Hopefully everything will survive the transplant.

A little more landscaping

This is the flowerbed in the front of the house. It looks so much better.

Lizzie's New Bed

This is Lizzie's new bed, and she just loves it. She was so anxious to get it that she was counting the days and then the hours. I was so lucky to be able to find this pretty bedding for her. I just happened to be at Dillards, and they just happened to be having an awsome sale, so I got this for an unbeliveable $35 how cool was that.

Oranges from a neighbor

I didn't take very good care of our orange tree last year, so not surprisingly enough it didn't give very good fruit this year. Much to our disappointment because we sure enjoy being able to go out into our backyard and pick an orange off of our tree and eat it. Thankfully our next door neighbor did take cake of her tree and was nice enough to let us pick the oranges from her tree that hung over our side of the wall. So I think I learned my lesson....trees need water. A lot of water in Arizona.

A Little Landscaping

A Little Landscaping

We've been doing a little landscaping in the front yard. I just wish plants weren't so expensive cause it sure would've been fun to get a lot more of them and make the yard really look good. But I'm grateful for what we were able to do because even adding a few plants sure made everything look better. Craig did a really good job. It's hard work digging all those holes, especially doing it after putting in a full days work already.

Alexander was outside messing around in the backyard today when he noticed a little bird on the ground. We aren't sure what was wrong with it, if anything because after he posed for pictures he just flew away. The kids all thought that it was pretty cool, but Alexander started worrying about it saying he hoped it wasn't hurt or anything. He's such a tender hearted guy.

My blog is up and running!

I can't believe how long it took me to get this blog done! I kept messing simple little things up. I just don't like reading directions, so I made this little project way harder than what it should've been. Oh well, live and learn. It's all good! Anyway now you can visit my blog and see how FABULOUS my life is.....yea right.
